This Specification covers structural steel plates,shapes,bars,and rivets intended primarily for use in ship construction. Material under this specification is available in the following categories:
Ordinary Strength-Grades A, B, D and E with a specified minimum yield point of 34Ksi(235Mpa)
Higher Strength-Grades AH,DH,EH and FH with a specified minimum yield point of 46 ksi (315 Mpa), 51 ksi(350 Mpa), or 57 ksi(390 Mpa)
Shapes and bars are normally available as Grades A, AH32, and AH36. Other grades may be furnished by agreement between the purchaser and the manufacturer. The maximum thickness of products furnished under this specification is 4 in.(100)mm for plates and 2in.(50mm) for shapes and bars. The maximum width of plates is 4000mm. The maximum length of plates is 18000mm.
When the steel is to be welded, it is presupposed that a welding procedure suitable for the grade of steel and intended use or service will be utilized.

All ABS steels are standard carbon steels. As with other grades of steel, they have a specific gravity of 7.8.Higher-strength ABS shipbuilding steel comes in six grades of two strengths, The ABS AH 32 grade steel plates have yield strength of 45,500 psi (315 MPa), and ultimate tensile strength of 64,000 - 85,000 psi (440-590 MPa).ABS AH32 Shipbuilding steel plates are suitable for container and bulk cargo vessels as well as cruise ships, ferries and yachts.

ABS AH32 Steel Grade Specification: 
Thickness: 4mm to 260mm,
Width: 1200mm to 4000mm.
Length: 3000mm to 18000mm.
